Just finished the series. The best anime I've seen in a long time.

Indeed ^^ Here's hoping they plan to animate more rather than just leave it at that

I've read (albeit at least second hand) that we shouldn't expect a sequel before 2014.
On another note, there were a ton of SAO cosplayers at Sakuracon this year. I got some hilarious pictures of a swarm of Kirito cosplayers on their knees around a single Asuna cosplayer at one of the photo shoots (there were actually multiple Asuna cosplayers, but not as many as there were Kiritos) as well as some shots of characters lining up to get their swords fixed by Lisbeth.

Here's an interesting bit of fan art I found online: the SAO crew (minus Yui) and Sinon decked out in GGO gear. (For those of you who have only seen the anime, GGO is the game featured in the Phantom Bullet story arc.) Even Argo the rat is in this one. How many of you think you can identify the weapon Klein is holding?

Yeah, it seems to be the M41A Pulse Rifle from Aliens. Though I'm actually not sure if I recognized it myself before someone on an image board pointed it out.

So is no one else here watching Season Two? Its been really good so far. (Well okay, the first episode was kind of info-dumpy -but in general its been really well done.)

I am! Absolutely loving it so far! The scene with Kirito meeting Death Gun was really well done. Those flashbacks, that horror... Really loved how it was portrayed

So after getting pretty positive reactions for much of its run, SAO II seems to be getting some flak for pacing. I'll admit that perhaps the last three episodes could have been shortened to two, but I'm not sure trying to cut two episodes out of the last three to four would have worked so well. Not unless the writers were prepared to do a much less literal adaptation.

I already asked this on Animesuki, but since there's no guarantee I'll get a response there I figured I'd ask it here as well. Is "I didn't really like my family" actually a good translation of Asuna's line just before the five minute mark in Episode 18? The line seems a bit off to me and it seems I'm not the only one.

"Atashi wa... anmari jibun no ie ga suki ja nakatta kara"
'Ie' means home, not family, so I think a more accurate translation would be something like "I... didn't really like my home life." Asuna loves her family, she just doesn't like having to on with all of those things to look like the perfect little child and be someone they can parade around to look good. So I think she was making more a statement about her situation than her family, and the official translation makes that unclear. Probably the translator has never read the novels and thought 'family' sounded better without knowing Asuna's true feelings, lol.
