www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQ8TZ4fRxFwAnyone else excited about MGS5? I could explain things in this trailer, but it would not do it justice. EDIT: (this is the_kumatei, my username/password doesnt work anymore, so this is a new account)

I haven't actually played any MGS games, but hasn't the main creative guy for the franchise been trying to kill it with each subsequent game (or at least each of the "main ones" seeing as how it has a bunch of spin offs now)? Or did her give up on that? If he's still trying then he hasn't been doing a very good job.

The game series has a lot of misinformation from its haters. (like abouit mgs4 going on xbox) its one of those things where misinformation on the internet wont die as long as someone believes in it. MGS4 even makes fun of that by saying its a blu ray disk so you wouldnt have to keep switching disks.
He's been trying to (not) be writer+director+producer of the games for some time. He is in charge of the kojima productions under konami, and is trying to be in more of a leader role. The game series isnt going anywhere.
He tried having the smaller games (Portable Ops and Peace Walker) be led by new people. He eventually ended up having a larger role than he wanted because no one had the knowledge that he did. (japanese are xenophobes)
Raiden's game Rising was supposed to be something he completly handed off to someone else on the team, but that fell through and it was given to the bayonetta developers instead.
Even if you dont know anything about the series, I think you should watch the trailer. I think youll get a pretty good idea who the good guys and bad guys are.

I've actually heard generally good things about the series -its just that I'd read some stuff indicating the main guy wanted the series to die so that he wouldn't have to do another game. Then again its been a while since I read that stuff and TV tropes is hardly the world's most credible source.
That trailer does look pretty cool, but I generally game on PC when I game at all. I'm a keyboard and mouse guy, I've never really gotten the hand of doing precision work with gamepads.

They haven't said so yet, but I suspect that the game will be on PC. It's on its own engine, which is why they could port it to ps3, ps4, and xbox1. I imagine they could port it to pc as well.
