Once again I'm starting this after some of the new shows have actually started airing. randomc.net/2014/09/18/fall-2014-preview/There's a bunch of sequels and carryovers ( Argevellon, Chaika S2, Log Horizon S2, Sword Art Online S2) and of course Amagi Brilliant Park which we already have a thread for. Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works is of course one of the hot titles this season. Personally I'm not a huge FSN fan but maybe I'll like this one more than some of the others. Akatsuki no Yona may be a shoujo series, but it actually sounds like something I could like if its done well. I'm not adverse to seeing a spoiled Princess take a level in badass (or at least a level in character development). Madan no Ou to Vanadis may be a harem series, but unlike another recent fantasy series with harem elements I'm not inclined to describe it as "hackneyed and cliched." It definitely has some "anime-ish" elements but it has more serious ones as well, and the male and female leads seem likeable enough. I checked out Gundam: Reconquista in G. There were some things I liked about it but there were also things I found pretty darn ridiculous. Also, that "Monday" girl needs to widen her vocabulary. I realize she's supposed to be a foreigner who lost her memory but hearing her repeat the same letter over and over does not leave a good impression. At least she was starting to communicate more in the second episode. And of course as mentioned in the thread I made about it I'm doing a 10th Anniversary weekly watch and discuss for Mai-HiME on [shameless plug] Animesuki[/shameless plug].

I really hope someone is going to sub Amagi Brilliant Park soon...
Episode 00 of FSN: Unlimited Blade Works didn't seem like a total info dump, so it has a bit of a leg up on the first episode of Fate/Zero.
The ending to the first episode of Cross Ange plays violent sexual abuse for fan service. Not recommended.

The Amaburi subs are SUPPOSED to be out soon... Still waiting on them myself. I watched it raw and the vocab is easy enough that I could follow it easy enough, but I'm on my tablet at my in-laws' so I still missed a lot just from quality and noise around me...
Looking forward to Hitsugi no Chaika too~

As noted in the Amagi Brilliant Park thread, I ended up getting the Vivid version as it was the first one I found. Decent first episode -not the greatest thing ever, but it had me interested in seeing more.
Akatsuki no Yona shows some promise as well. Again, not blown away but I enjoyed the first episode and supposedly it was largely based on the weakest chapter of the source manga. I'm told the heroine gets a lot of character development (and from the looks of it she takes a level in badass as well). Granted its a shoujo reverse harem series, but looking at it so far I think I could end up liking it.

Shingeki no Bahamut is pretty slick and the male lead is far from being a good two shoes. Those of you looking for an action fix may want to check it out.
This seems to be a good season for Fantasy shows in general. I have doubts about Madan quo no to Vanadis isn't looking so good after episode three (two much switching over to narration with indicator pieces to explain the flow of the battle) but Chaika's second season is starting off strong and while its been rather flashback heavy so far I still have high hopes for Akatsuki no Yona.
Shirobako is an anime about making anime. Don't let the club of moe high school girls making anime at the beginning of episode one fool you. The series has thus far mostly focused on one of those girls, now an adult, who seems to be a junior production coordinator at an anime company and is sort of "learning the ropes" on her first big job. Her friends who work elsewhere in the industry (I think one might be at the same company) make occasional appearances but its not a "cute girls doing cute things" show.
And of course I'm also watching Amagi Brilliant Park.
I'm also continuing to watch Argevollen and Sword Art Online II from last season.
Also watching Log Horizon II. Log Horizon is often compared to Sword Art Online but its a rather different series. Main problem with it is that although it gets interesting, there is a reason I dropped it in season one before the hype got me to pick it back up.

Bit late to be saying this, but this is proving to be one of the strongest anime seasons I've seen in a long time. Several of the shows I was cautiously optomistic about earlier in the season seem to be winners. As I noted previously, this seems to be a particularly good season for fantasy anime (with the exception of Shirobako, SAO II, and Argevollen all the titles listed here are fantasy titles). Shingeki no Bahamut is awesome. Great production values and a fun cast of characters with plenty of good action scenes. Yes, that is the series OP that kicks in partway through the trailer. It's a bit over the top. Akatsuki no Yona is not as action packed as Bahamut, but it's got quite a bit for a shoujo adaptation. It's also got a fair bit of complexity with its back story. If you want a (somewhat dramatized) look at what goes into anime production, check out Shirobako. It's actually pretty good. As noted previously, while there are a group of girls who were part of an anime club in high school, it isn't just a cute girls doing cute things show. They're not all working for the same company, and the newbie voice actress in particular is struggling a bit. The main character is a production assistant, which is a good device for looking in on a lot of different aspects of production. And of course there's Amagi Brilliant Park. Which I'd actually consider one of the weaker shows on my top list. There's been some very good episodes but the show has at times been kind of mediocre (episodes eight and nine in particular come to mind). There's some good sequels/carry overs too, what with Sword Art Online II, Coffin Princess Chaika: Avenging Battle, and Argevollen. I found the early parts of Argevollen's second half somewhat weak but it's been getting pretty good lately.
