I wanted to see who's up for some kind of new FMP RPG and what sort of plotlines they're interested in. I'm interested in participating in a new RPG, but most of the plotlines I'm interested in are based on old RPGs we did that have kind of died, which might not be the best thing. Anyone got any fresh ideas?

Don't have really anything off the bat, but a new spin on an old idea could always get something far more interesting going ^--^

I'd kind of like to do something action oriented. Though a good comedy RPG could be good as well. With the past RPGs I'd often tried to use characters from other series that I thought it might be interesting to see interact with the FMP cast, but I get the impression some of them didn't go over so well. I did actually have the idea of trying to do something with FMP and that Ben-to anime I've been gushing about lately, but I'm not sure it would work so well (among other issues, if Sousuke were to inadvertently get caught up in a Bento brawl he might end up killing someone before realizing its just a bunch of starving students fighting over half price food ).

Uh, yeah... That might not go over too well considering he'd be out to kill the threat, and all they wanted was cheap lunch. Brainstorming a good mesh between stories is a good start though.

Do you have anything in particular you'd be looking for from a new RPG? Does straight FMP vs mixed fandom matter to you? What about genre? Action, comedy, drama -maybe some kind of AU?
Were there any of the old RPGs you particularly liked?

As far as anything new, I'd personally just look for something that I could get a lot of substance out of. If it doesn't sound plausible or is too much of a stretch to fit, then I would be less likely to bother. An AU could be a possibility, as long as a world that explains why everyone would be present could be built around it.
Genre was never an issue for me, just because the characters themselves are just people, and people have every possible genre of life experiences available to them, it just depends on the availability of such that shapes what happens to them. So any genre I think would go over well enough with enough effort. There were some initial issues with them, but a few of the former sites older RP threads were:
The Island - Longest one on the old RP boards, but also had multiple characters coming in and out before an actual story started taking shape
Mithril Company Picnic - Somewhat long but dropped due to lack of players/interest
Random Mission RPs - Pretty much anyone would come up with a mission for the Danaan and run through it, but these didn't last very long
Any Character introduction - We've all had this issue in the past of trying to introduce the characters to each other, but these threads were more or less dead fairly quickly because not a lot of people like getting through that initial awkwardness
Pretty much some of our more successful RP times came from just everyone sitting around and saying if they had time to do so, then signing in as their character inside nondescript room/area and interacting with each other and letting the situation develop. I saved copies of every RP Chat I took part in with my characters, and they lasted at least a few hours each at least. Not saying that that's what we need to do, but it is also another option for us.

Unfortunately I don't do well with chat room roleplays. I'm not fast enough on my feet, and its difficult to correct errors. The chatbox could be a useful tool for planning RPs though.
I should probably stop beating around the bush with this. One of my biggest issues with restarting this RPG (aside from attracting people) is that I'm nervous about recycling things that didn't seem to go over so well last time. So are there any plotlines I've used -or particularly any characters I've played- that you really don't want to see again?
